You know the situation you have your own swimming pool / pond, have children or elderly persons who are often close to the edge of the pool. How quick can someone slip or small children crawl to the edge. The night/evenings also brings dangers to the pool / pond area, either from children (sometimes in secret) who walk around or your partner on their way back from a party and dare we say it maybe under the influence of alcohol, who fall/slip/trip without being noticed into the pool/pond.
How easy is it to say that nothing can happen you’ve got everything under supervison, but in reality this can be very different.
Naturally we look after the kids when they are within the danger zone, but then the door bell rings, or the telephone and we are just gone for a second, sometimes a second to late.
How else can it be explained that yearly some 4000 people drown in their own pool worldwide.

Urgent action is requested
France is the first European country to pass laws which govern the safety of swimming pool areas. These incorporate standards and rules for the areas and safeguards as follows:
- Walls surrounding the swimming pool area
- Fences surrounding in the swimming pool area
- Cover construction for the swimming pool area
- A precautional alarm in the swimming pool area
The first 3 points are naturally cost intense and would probably require planning and building permission and in the execution of these safeguards could often destroy the architectural impressions of the pool or pond area.
Therefore the demands for a reliable cost effective alarm alternative have risen strongly. Many devices, due to the means of manufacturer are unreliable and at this time only a few devices have been certified to the French standard NFP 90-307 A1.
We are pleased and proud announce that due to its sturdy, reliable design and functional ability the PoolWatcher has received this certification.
